Being single-ended or dual ended is defined by the pins the fixture has at both the ends. These are the connecting terminals from which the fixture draws the power from the main circuit.   

  • Single ended LED tube: A single-ended LED tube is the one which has connecting terminals only on one end. The other end is for support. The live and neutral connections    are both situated at one end only. That is two pins at one end.

  • Dual ended: A dual ended LED tube light has connecting terminals on both the ends. That is, live and neutral connecting points are available at both ends. Which means two pins at both the ends.

    Both of these tube light types can be used with a shunted or non-shunted tombstone.
